CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK: ALLISON BILLINGSLEY

Aug 28th 2019

Your Name: Allison Billingsley

Hometown: Penn Valley, PA

What are the names and ages of your kids? What’s the story behind their names?

Peyton 12, Piper 10 and Perry 5. People ask me all the time if they are family names and I respond, no, my husband and I just liked them so that’s what we named them. When I was pregnant with Perry, it just didn’t seem right not to have her name start with a “P”. Their middle names are all family names.

A piece of advice you’ve always remembered:

Nothing in life is just given to you, you have to work hard for it.

What is a good tip every new parent should know?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Which is not very easy raising children in this day and age. But the older I get, the better I am getting at letting things go and not being bothered by stupid things that may occur.

If you could go on a dream vacation, where would it be? What would you do?

Hmmm, I love the beach and ocean. I would probably go on a Stand up paddle board/surfing retreat in Costa Rica and maybe run a ½ marathon while I was there.

How do you and your family like to spend time together?

Family dinners most every night. It’s how I was raised and how we catch up on our day with one another.

What are some of your interests or hobbies?

At 41 (almost 42), I am still a huge athlete. I try to run at least 3 days a week, I teach 5 TRX small group classes each week, weight train and stand up paddle board in the summer. I have fallen in love with Bikram Yoga. The physical challenge is beyond what I ever expected because of how hard you have to push yourself in each pose while dealing with the extreme heat. Each time you go to class, you are determined to be just a bit better at the poses. I leave the class feeling amazing. If I have down time, I like to read or go out for a nice dinner with my husband.

Which Baby Be Hip product is your favorite to send as a gift?

For sure the monogrammed burp cloths. I have been sending them as gifts since Colleen started making them. I remember her talking about her burp cloth ideas when our first born were babies. How she could market them, get exposureWow, she’s come a long way and I couldn’t be prouder!

We loved learning more about you, Allison, and thanks for being this week’s featured customer!
