What are the names of your kids and how did you choose their names?

Our son’s name is Matthew David. We picked Matthew because we loved it, to us, it was a traditional, strong name. Matthew’s middle name is a family name on both sides, Matthew has two uncles named David, my step-dad’s middle name is David and my husband’s best friend’s name is David. It just seemed like the perfect middle name for our son.

Our daughter’s name is Addison Elizabeth. We love the name Addison, it was unique and we knew it would fit out little girl perfectly. Elizabeth is Addison’s maternal great grandmother’s middle name, as well her maternal grandmother and my confirmation name.

The best piece of advice you have ever received:

My grandfather always used to tell me, “Your education is the one thing in the world that can’t be taken away from you.” As a child, I used to think he meant that I had to work hard in school. Now, I know he meant that and so much more. I try to follow his advice on a daily basis and open my mind to learning new things at all times!

What is some good parenting advice or tips you would give to new moms?

Hug your children every day and tell them you love them!

If you had one free day all to yourself, what would you do?

Exercise, refresh and relax…in that order! First, I’d teach a BODYPUMP or BODYCOMBAT class at the Y and go for a run; then I’d get a mani/pedi; and finally, I’d sit in my house with a cup of tea and read a book or magazine and just enjoy!

What is your favorite way to spend time with your kids and family?

It is hard to pick just one thing that I love doing with my kids and my husband. We are always seems to be “on the go” and, because of that, I love lazy weekend mornings with nothing to do but building Legos and giant floor puzzles, reading books, playing grocery store or dress up and hanging out in our PJs! As a family, our favorite time of the year is summer when we spend weekends in Ocean City, New Jersey and as much time as possible in the pool. The days are longer and we try to take full advantage of it…playing sports outside, decorating our driveway with sidewalk chalk and hanging out with our neighbors!

What are some of your interests?

Aside from my children and my family, my true passion is teaching group fitness classes. I teach two Les Mills programs, BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT, at the West Chester Area YMCA. I love leading and motivating others to achieve their fitness and wellness goals. I teach some of the best members in the world…their hard work and dedication inspires me!

Which Baby Be Hip product is your favorite to send as a gift?

I have so many favorites, it is hard to choose! I love the personalized burp cloth and bib combo, sand buckets, The Weekender Set, personalized buckets and bloomers…the list goes on and on!
