Customer of the Week: Fredericka Gorham

Hometown: Lafayette, California

What are the names and ages of your kids? What’s the story behind their names?

My husband and I both wanted to name our kids something that wasn’t too trendy, but not old fashioned at the same time. Our son, Christopher Lucas, is 3 and daughter, Meredith Alexandra, is 18 months.

A piece of advice you’ve always remembered:

You can’t expect to be a perfect parent all of the time, but as long as you have confidence that you are doing your best most of the time you will be a good parent.

What is a good tip every new parent should know?

Be open to trying new things if traditional routes have not worked with your kids. Things like Naturopathic medicine, sleep training and bottle feeding can all be a part of a healthy child’s life, even if it goes against what you thought you might have done before you had kids.

If you could go on a dream vacation, where would it be? What would you do?

A dream vacation with kids – Australia – because of the unusual animals, the fabulous beaches and the friendly people.

Dream vacation without the kids – Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam – for the culture, the food and the exotic landscape.

How do you and your family like to spend time together?

We love to be outside at the park, riding bikes and scooters, throwing or kicking balls, but our favorite thing to do as a family is to go swimming.

Which Baby Be Hip product is your favorite to send as a gift?

Loved the personalized tote bag and burp cloths. I think monogrammed gifts are so meaningful, especially for second children who often get hand-me-downs. It is nice to have something just for them.
