What is the best parenting advice you’ve ever received?

Trust your instincts. As a first time Mom I was so nervous about how I’d know what to do from the big decisions to the small things. What I learned was that you develop natural instincts and you need to let those guide you. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. If something doesn’t work you just try something else.

How did you choose your children’s names?

Our daughter’s name is Quinn West. Her middle name was chosen in honor of our family friend, John West. John was a Fire Chief who was killed trying to rescue three little girls from a burning house on July 4th, 2002. My husband and I met at a fundraiser honoring John later that summer.
