What’s the best parenting advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received, was to take a shower and get dressed every morning! As a new mom it’s easy to put the kids ahead of yourself. Before you know it, you’ve gotten the kids fed, dressed, cleaned up the house and now it’s lunch time and you’re still in pajamas. I have much better days when I can wake up before the kids, shower and enjoy a cup of coffee before my day starts. I’m more likely to leave the house and be in a better mood.

How did you choose your children’s names?

I met my husband eleven years ago and on our first or second date we talked about children’s names. He said, “If I have a boy I want to name him Randall.” and I said “If we have a girl, I want to name her Grace”. Both being family names that we love, it was easy for our first two. We struggled with our third baby’s name. Up until hours before he was born we were still working on it. Finally we landed on Tyler, just because we liked it.
