HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO OUR WONDERFUL MOMS!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO OUR WONDERFUL MOMS!

Aug 24th 2019

With Mother’s Day approaching this Sunday, we are celebrating ALL moms, and especially our own. The team members at Baby Be Hip have each shared pictures and stories of their awesome moms in honor of their special day!

Colleen: My mom has always provided me, as her daughter and now as a fellow mom, with the greatest advice. She has always said the most important things for a balanced life are the “Five Fs”:

1. Faith: Growing up, friends lovingly called my mom the “Church Lady”. She taught me the power of prayer and that when you pray, you have to really ask for what you want. This has meant the world to me as I’ve navigated the tough times in my life.

2. Family: The greatest gift is your family, even though at times some family members may drive you crazy. When I was younger, I wished I was an only child. Today I am so thankful for my amazing siblings!

3. Friends: Be sure to surround yourself with positive people whose company you enjoy and with whom you can be yourself.

4. Fun: Always have fun, and we always do! We all love our margaritas on the rocks with lots of salt thanks to mom!

5. Finances: Work hard, hustle, and be smart. Prioritize financials to be comfortable, but not at the expense of the other Fs. Give back.

Thanks, Mom, for everything. Thanks to you, I have a great head on my shoulders and a smile on my face, and I treasure all that we share. I love you.

Liz: I always think I am so lucky to have a mom who has a great sense of humor and with whom I can always share a laugh. Not only is my mom an amazing cook (I can’t even list my favorite because I love everything she makes), but she is a genuinely kind and loving woman who taught me through her example to always have a positive attitude, be friendly and caring towards others, appreciate your family, and be cheerful!

Not to mention, she is very fashionable and I’ve been known to steal a scarf or two of hers. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

Laura: My mom is one of the most important people in my life. She has given me the fundamentals to be a strong and independent woman, and taught me what the important values are in life. I know I can talk to and count on my mom for anything, from a shoulder to cry on to advice (mom knows best!) to cooking, laundry, cleaning, and sewing tips. She has taught me to laugh and stick up for myself.

A mother’s love is unconditional and I know firsthand that regardless of how crazy she makes me, she is here to love and support me no matter how tough things seem to be.

Shukran: My mother has been my strength, and all that I am today I owe to her. We enjoy cooking family meals together and reminiscing on old memories, while enjoying a delicious cup of Sri Lankan tea.

Rimzim: My mom, Asha, is a pillar of strength to everybody around her. My mom’s positive and optimistic attitude lets nothing come in her way, not even breast cancer. We love to sew, paint, knit, and cook together. She has inspired me since I was a little kid. She is my true best friend.

Tricia: Whenever someone compares me to my mom it is the best compliment- because it means I’m happy – just like she always is! I have so many fond memories of my mom but she was always happiest when she was cooking and baking. She is a wonderful cook who nurtured us through her wonderful meals and treats. I did not realize until I was a mother myself that the meals were not just about nourishing our bodies but nourishing our hearts and soul. Each day creating family bonds deeper and deeper. I value and cherish this time now with my family. A special time carved out where we share a prayer, give thanks, and talk about our day. I know my children do not see this now as something special, my hope is that one day they will realize this gift just as I did!

Bridget: My Mom is the greatest because she loves me unconditionally. She taught me that girls could do anything that boys can do and that anything was possible if I believed in myself. My Mom hand-made all of my Halloween costumes, was a lunch mother at school and coached my softball teams. She called our red Ambassador “Nellie” and sang “My Baby Takes the Morning Train” to the radio, wore Dr. Scholls in the summertime and made the best brownies:) She has always been there for me through all of my triumphs and heartaches and continues to be to this day. Thank you Mom, for all that you do and all that you are to me. I love you with all my heart! Love, Bridget xoxo
