With summertime approaching, the warm-weather season means more than just the school year ending – it’s almost time for that long awaited summer vacation, whether it’s a weekend at the shore, a getaway to an island, or a trip to the hometown of Mickey Mouse himself, Disney World.

Wherever you’re headed off to, treat your kids to a fun surprise to reveal the vacation destination. Tricia of Baby Be Hip tells us how she and her husband surprised their kids with a trip to Disney World a few years ago, “I wrapped a big Mickey balloon in a box and had the kids open the box. Once they did, the balloon floated out and we told them we were going to Disney!”

Going off of Tricia’s fun and creative story, we’ve rounded up a few other ideas for inspiration to surprise your little ones with a vacation they’ll surely never forget:

• Get a puzzle printed or pick one up of a beach landscape or Disney World characters and have your kids put the pieces together to figure out the destination.
  
• Wrap the plane tickets, amusement park tickets, or beach tags as a present and put them under the tree for Christmas.
  
• For Disney World trips, serve up some Mickey pancakes or get the kids Mickey and Minnie ears. Hide them somewhere and have them do a scavenger hunt with clues!
  
• Give them stuffed animals of Disney characters or dolphins and mermaids if you are going somewhere tropical.
  
• If you are feeling especially crafty, make the kids up a basket of essentials they’ll need for the trip – sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, flip flops, etc. – and give the basket to them and see if they can guess where you are going.
