WITCH’S BREW
Aug 29th 2019
Here is an idea for some Halloween fun… A Witch’s Brew! This is great activity for a Halloween party or a classroom celebration. Assign ingredients for the brew ahead of time and have classmates or guests bring them to the celebration in a sealed bag.
- You will need a large bucket or cauldron to hold your ingredients. A baby be hip metal bucket will do!
- You will need plastic cups or bags to share the brew and something creative to “stir” the ingredients. I like to use the handle of my witch broom.
Use your imagination to name your ingredients. The kids love to be creative! Here are some suggestions.
“Bat eyes” –raisinettes (2 zip lock sandwich bags
“Tree fungus”- popcorn ( two microwave bags)
Monster hair” –shoe string licorice (2 zip lock sandwich bags)
“Witch’s fingernails”- candy corn (2 small store bought bags)
“Bat bones”- pretzels (1 large store bought bag)
“ Worms ”- gummy worms (2 zip lock sandwich bags)
“Ghost teeth”- Mini Marshmallows (1 store bought bag)
“ Vampire Vitamins” – M&M’s (1 store bought bag)
“Cat Eyes” – Chocolate chips. (1 store bought bag)
Have the kids say some magic words or repeat a chant when they stir their contribution into the brew. Here is a suggestion:
“Stir the brew round and round; make a spooky Halloween sound….” Have them ad lib with their own spooky sound. (or the kids could make up their own chant or rhyme…which is always great for some giggles!)
When it is complete you will have a sweet and salty treat! Scoop it out and share in cups, bowls or sealable ziplock bags for the road!
Happy Halloween!
